All Care Homes must be registered, regulated and inspected with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who publish the Care Homes inspection reports on their website www.cqc.org.uk to ensure Care Homes comply with the ‘Essential Standards of quality and safety’.
All staff employed must have clearance checks from the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) and Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) to ensure they are safe to work with vulnerable people before commencing employment.
Care home providers must be registered by CQC. Their staff must pass relevant security checks and undertake a mandatory training programme covering all aspects of care.
