The Moorings

The Moorings is a purpose built, state of the art, contemporary home specially designed to provide the very best of care and a lifestyle choice for the active resident who wants to reside in luxury but comfortable surroundings.

Overlooking the sea and sand dunes in the 19th century Edwardian town of St Anne’s-on-the-Sea, a traditional seaside resort with floral displays, up-market hotels, a sandy beach and ice cream stalls it is within walking distance of St Anne’s Pier as well as the shopping “Square” opposite the pier. It is complemented by substantial, well stocked gardens, with consideration given to ensure there are plenty of seating areas to sit inside or outside to enjoy the views, the sea air, the scents and the rolling weather.

Many of the spacious, high quality bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, offer views overlooking the sea, the gardens and an Italian style garden. It also offers residents restaurant style dining, a cinema, salon and an indoor bowling green.

With many seating areas, a library and lounges residents can choose to relax or take advantage of the extensive range of activities and make use of a range of facilities, including trips in the vintage motor car.

The key to achieving our principles, we ensure our teams value each resident and work with residents’ friends and families to build lasting relationships and ensure they have as much time as they require to meet our resident’s needs. In doing this we are providing compassionate and dignified care.

I have been the Kitchen Assistant at The Moorings for 5 years and recently promoted to Chef. I was originally employed as a Carer for 3 years but I craved a new challenge after I developed a passion for cooking and so far I have made great progress in my current role.

I have a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and due to my background as a Carer, I have a great relationship with the residents.

I started my career at The Moorings in 2015 as a Carer and after developing my skills in leadership and communication I was promoted to Senior Carer in 2020.

I am a good listener, dedicated and reliable. I really care about the residents and think it’s important the dignity of the resident is maintained at all times.

I had a little boy in 2017 with my long term partner.

I have been working as a Carer at The Moorings since November 2019. I have been working in the care sector since I was 18 years old.

I am not originally from St Annes, I moved here 2 years ago.

I have 2 young children and a dog and most of my spare time is taken up watching my son play football or my daughter swimming and dancing. I enjoy long distance walking, watching live comedy shows, listening to music, reading and solving puzzles.

H Bentham

Helen

I have been in the Care Industry for 34 years. I began my career working with children with complex disabilities, followed by young adults with similar complex needs. Since then I have been a Senior Carer, Project Manager and Activities Co-ordinator. I took a break to support my mother when she broke her hip as my father was still working full time.

I have been at The Moorings for just over a year and I can honestly say it’s the best place I have worked. Every care is taken to ensure the residents are treated as individuals and with care and respect. Even when Person Centred Care wasn’t in effect, I always used that ethic in my work. I treat the residents as if they could be my own Mum or Dad.
