The Moorings is a purpose built, state of the art, contemporary home specially designed to provide the very best of care and a lifestyle choice for the active resident who wants to reside in luxury but comfortable surroundings.
Overlooking the sea and sand dunes in the 19th century Edwardian town of St Anne’s-on-the-Sea, a traditional seaside resort with floral displays, up-market hotels, a sandy beach and ice cream stalls it is within walking distance of St Anne’s Pier as well as the shopping “Square” opposite the pier. It is complemented by substantial, well stocked gardens, with consideration given to ensure there are plenty of seating areas to sit inside or outside to enjoy the views, the sea air, the scents and the rolling weather.
Many of the spacious, high quality bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, offer views overlooking the sea, the gardens and an Italian style garden. It also offers residents restaurant style dining, a cinema, salon and an indoor bowling green.
With many seating areas, a library and lounges residents can choose to relax or take advantage of the extensive range of activities and make use of a range of facilities, including trips in the vintage motor car.
The key to achieving our principles, we ensure our teams value each resident and work with residents’ friends and families to build lasting relationships and ensure they have as much time as they require to meet our resident’s needs. In doing this we are providing compassionate and dignified care.
MEET THE TEAM
I have been the Deputy Manager for The Moorings for 5 years.
I have worked in care for the past 24 years, working in residential, nursing, EMI/EMD and domiciliary settings.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and taking walks with my dog.
I have been the Home Administrator at The Moorings since June 2019. My duties include dealing with all telephone and face to face queries and keeping all the administration completely up to date.
With experience of working with individuals requiring support in their own homes and personal experience of supporting family members living with dementia I feel able to communicate and empathise with our residents and their family members in a really positive way. I look forward to welcoming guests and visitors alike to The Moorings.
I joined Lakeview Rest Homes as the Customer Service Advisor in February 2018. I come with 15 years experience in the care sector and I have a Level 5 in Health & Social Care Management.
I love meeting and greeting the visitors to the home and getting to know the residents. I am here to make sure the residents’ experience is a happy one.
I have been Head Chef at The Moorings for 3 years now. I prepare and cook nutritious meals for our residents, meeting any dietary requirements necessary.
I have an NVQ Level 3 in Culinary Arts and I’m passionate about cooking and I pride myself on my excellent food and immaculate presentation. A residents favourite is my Lamb Chops.
I have been the Kitchen Assistant at The Moorings for 4 years. I was originally employed as a Carer for 3 years but I craved a new challenge after I developed a passion for cooking and so far I have made great progress in my current role.
I have a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and due to my background as a Carer, I have a great relationship with the residents.

I am the Restaurant Manager at The Moorings and I love my job. My duties include the preparation of the restaurant and serving the food.
I am from Tenerife and moved to St Annes 5 years ago. I have 42 years’ experience as a Caterer, Restaurant Manager and Head Chef. I am proud of the relationships I have built with the residents.
Having spent 15 years as an Ofsted Registered Childminder, I decided that I would like to continue working in care as I enjoy making people happy.
With over 20 years experience performing in Amateur Dramatics and 6 years in voluntary cabaret for the Royal British Legion in Newquay, Cornwall, I thoroughly enjoy entertaining and I feel privileged to be working in such a beautiful home in a role that allows me to continue to do everything I enjoy.
My main role as an Activities Co-Ordinator is to motivate the residents and provide a service to them that will enhance their stay with us.
I am passionate about my job and I aim to go above and beyond to provide an outstanding service to the residents.
I started my career at The Moorings in 2015 as a Carer and after developing my skills in leadership and communication I was promoted to Senior Carer in 2020.
I am a good listener, dedicated and reliable. I really care about the residents and think it’s important the dignity of the resident is maintained at all times.
I had a little boy in 2017 with my long term partner.
I have been working as a Carer at The Moorings since November 2019. I have been working in the care sector since I was 18 years old.
I am not originally from St Annes, I moved here 2 years ago.
I have 2 young children and a dog and most of my spare time is taken up watching my son play football or my daughter swimming and dancing. I enjoy long distance walking, watching live comedy shows, listening to music, reading and solving puzzles.
I am currently a Senior Carer at The Moorings. I started as a Carer here in 2017 and was promoted in 2019.

Mt first position as a Carer was in St Annes in 1984 and I continued to work as a Carer but took time off to get after getting married and raising 5 children. I spent 15 years living and working in Oldham but then chose to work in Pharmacy.
I came home to Blackpool in 2000 where I continued to work in Pharmacy but I returned to care in 2014 where I went from Carer to Senior Carer to Deputy Manager to Registered Manager.
I have been a Carer at The Moorings since July 2020.
This is my first job in care but I have experience as my mother has Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Being her carer has given me a passion for caring.
I am working towards a degree in Family Support & Wellbeing which makes my role here so important and beneficial.
I have been a Care Assistant at The Moorings for 4 years and I’m a fantastic team player. My duties include assisting the residents in personal care including washing, bathing, dressing and toilet needs. I especially enjoy the trips out and I have even taken the residents shopping on my day off. I love my job and all the residents are like my family.

I have been in the Care Industry for 34 years. I began my career working with children with complex disabilities, followed by young adults with similar complex needs. Since then I have been a Senior Carer, Project Manager and Activities Co-ordinator. I took a break to support my mother when she broke her hip as my father was still working full time.
I have been at The Moorings for just over a year and I can honestly say it’s the best place I have worked. Every care is taken to ensure the residents are treated as individuals and with care and respect. Even when Person Centred Care wasn’t in effect, I always used that ethic in my work. I treat the residents as if they could be my own Mum or Dad.
I am relatively new to care work, having spent the last 20 years driving taxi’s and spent many years in a factory environment in engineering.
I considered taking on this role as my mother has been in care for the last 4 years and I realised the crucial role her carers provide.
It is harder work than I imagined, but I am never bored, the days fly in and I find it very rewarding. I go home each night knowing I have made someone’s day a little bit better. I should have done it years ago.
