The reason I came here, I lost my wife after 66 years married, at the time The Moorings was more or less built and finished. It does not seem like a care home but could be a 5 star hotel. The staff and medical facilities I found excellent and if privacy is important not a problem. So in my 3rd year here I have no desire to return to Yorkshire where I lived.

It is very good. I have been ill and the staff have been very good to me, with everything such as looking after my room, keeping it clean and keeping my dignity. It is the best place to be, best on the Fylde Cost. I’ve stayed in other places and they are not as good, they have more compassion here and are more efficient.

My wife was diagnosed with Dementia – when it became imperative she would have to have care home supervision, after searching the area we decided on Newfield Lodge, on initially a Respite basis, it was very daunting for my beloved wife to be struck down with this terrible condition at comparatively young age – moreover she is a very talented professional Cabaret Artist having appeared in clubs, theatres, and numerous times on national TV shows – I was very concerned how she would cope and visit every day. ‘I had my reservations at the outset’ a new manager was employed at Newfield ‘WHAT A DIFFERENCE SHE HAS MADE IN EVERY AREA’ she is a very astute professional manager, who is constantly looking to improve/upgrade the residents needs, her compassion to all is outstanding, she even brought DVDs in of my wife’s favourite artists which inspired her, so many more improvements introduced have rubbed off on the excellent new team at Newfield. ‘THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR KINDNESS’

From our first visit to Rosewood Lodge in our mission to find a suitable placement for Mum, we knew our search was over.
Rosewood Lodge felt right.
Staff were friendly, helpful, warm and inviting to all visitors and, more importantly, kind and compassionate to the residents in their care. A simple gesture or word of encouragement to a resident rarely failed to elicit a smile. Kindness and patience was observed frequently during our regular visits for residents with more challenging behaviour and staff never appeared to be in a rush to go off duty – always prepared to go the extra mile to finish a task or manage a situation; dedication, love and enjoyment of their job apparent for all to see.
Rosewood Lodge has a homely, family atmosphere and, perhaps combined with excellent caring staff, this is the reason for the success of the home. For the duration of Mum’s time at Rosewood Lodge we felt part of a large family which has, for the moment, left a void in our daily routine.
In Mum’s final days our family was treated with the utmost respect and consideration. We were able to spend as much time as possible with Mum and to be with her when she passed away was especially important to us.
Thank you seems completely inadequate but the team at Rosewood Lodge should be proud of the standard of care they provide, not just to the residents in their care but to the family and friends too.
Plaudits are not given out without reason and in the case of Rosewood Lodge staff they are for a job carried out with dedication and understanding, in fact for a job “well done”.

My husband came into Rosewood for the odd 2 weeks and came as a resident in November 2015. I am delighted with the way the staff look after him in such a caring way… and for the warm welcome I receive from ALL the staff every time I (and when our family) visit. The whole atmosphere is of peace, caring, having fun and help every day and with hospital visits. I call it a 4 star hotel. Any questions have been answered immediately and with honesty.

Staff do an amazing job and treat my dad with respect. His quality of life is enhanced in a lovely, comfortable environment. It feels like “home” and dad has a nice routine where he feels comfortable. I enjoy visiting and try to take my dad out as much as possible, although he mainly prefers staying in! As my dad is still adapting to losing his independence (from sheltered accommodation) he does tend to moan about everything and staff deal with this with a great deal of patience and understanding.

What did we do well?

  • Everything was super. The Dancing the food the atmosphere. Everyone included no matter their ability
  • Organisation superb, helpers worked hard and did us well, the chefs worked extremely hard and the food was first rate. Everybody joined in and a good time was had by all.
  • Very well organised and a very nice change for everybody- nice to see the staff all enjoying themselves and I thought they made people feel involved and welcome.
  • The staff were wonderful and food was fantastic, Tony, I and our friends had a super time.

I went to visit my friend at Newfield on Good Friday. It was great to see my friend happy and up dancing to the singer. The staff had arranged for an Easter Bonnet parade. I am aware that a new management team have been brought in, what a difference this has made. The homes feels alive and is full of fun. Well done to you all. Great day.

My mum has been a resident in Newfield Lodge for some time now, whom I visit on a regular basis, over the last few months I have noticed some very positive changes. The staff are happy and very welcoming, this is lovely to see. The whole home has a fantastic homely feel about it, the staff although busy find time to sit and chat with residents and spend time chatting to those residents who are feeling anxious. I love the fact that residents can explore with laptops and Ipads, it is very stimulating, they also use dolls that are loved and treated like babies, the whole atmosphere is amazing. My mum is in a fabulous place, the best!! I want to say a big thank you to the new management, what a fantastic job you are doing, you are both angels, in fact all angels. Thank you

My 75 year old husband, who has recently been diagnosed with vascular dementia, stayed for four nights giving me a short respite. The staff were excellent at dealing with his requests and at times, challenging behaviour. They dealt with him with humour, calming his anxieties, and meeting his needs. He was happy to integrate and engage with other residents and their various disabilities in this happy and caring environment. He enjoyed his short stay and looks forward to returning soon.
